revelations

I drove and drove and drove
and the smell of the desert
guided me to a place that I used to call home.
I knew I had arrived
when night became darker than night
and the unfamiliar, yet unforgotten stars
finally came alive before my very own eyes.
I disappeared into the comforting shadows
of the magestic desert sky.
"Revelations," she said, "You're nervous about leaving
because of the revelations you'll be receiving
from the perspective of a far away place."
A place I used to call home.
A place where the night is darker than night.
A place where unfamiliar but long-remembered stars
are finally coming to life again
right before my very own eyes.
I smiled.
Then I disappeared into the haunting shadows
of the infinite desert sky.
