i was the damaged broken mutt
on my way to being euthanized by the world
she was the girl who swooped in to save me
to heal me to love me
i wasn't in a position to save anything
i couldn't fix something that some other human had broken
i was the one who needed saving
i was broken and she fixed me
it will be so different with her there with me
my own family
it will be so different
i'm so glad i don't have to go alone this year
